Evaluation of growth performance in 20-years afforestations of Brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) and Taurus cedar (Cedrus libani A. Rich.)

Tree height, diameter at base and diameter at breast height of fifty trees sampled randomly were examined in 20-years afforestations of Brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) and Taurus cedar (Cedrus libani A. Rich.) to contribute afforestation and other silvicultural practices of the species. Brutian pine showed higher growth performances than Taurus cedar for the characteristics. The characteristics had significant (p<0.05) differences between the species according to results of analysis of variance, together with positive and significant (p<0.05) relations among tree height, diameter at base and diameter at breast height in each species.
