Growth performances in an afforestation at thicket stage of Anatolian black pine [Pinus nigra Arnold. subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe]

This study was carried out in tree height, diameter at base and diameter at breast height of 50 trees in an afforestation area which was 30-years and thicket stage of Anatolian black pine [Pinus nigra Arnold. subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe] covered 18% of 23.4 million ha Türkiye forest area. Averages of tree height, diameter at base and diameter at breast height were 10.7 m, 22.7 cm and 19.9 cm, respectively, while there were large variations among the characteristics. Besides, there were significant and positive (r>0.57; p<0.01) relations among the characteristics. Results of the study were discussed for silvicultural such as afforestation and forest tending, and other forestry practices in the species.
