THOUGHTS ON ISTANBUL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM FROM PAST TO PRESENT

Abstract

Transportation is one of the most important needs from the first human to the present, such as moving, carrying goods, etc. It is important for functions. As it is known, cities require a relationship between daily life and usage areas in urban areas in order to meet the needs of human life and increase the quality of life. In this context, the study titled “A Local Transportation System Research in Kadıköy, Istanbul” written on the subject of the Master's Thesis in the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning Department on the problems in the transportation system of Istanbul in the 1970s was conducted in 1976. The problems revealed at the time of the study were compared with the current situation, and solution suggestions were made in the context of the determination of the ongoing problems and determinations in the current situation.
