Abstract

This article reviews the second edition of the book An Introduction to Critical Discourse Analysis in Education (Rogers, 2011), a comprehensive resource that critically analyzes the intersection of language, context, and meaning within the scope of educational settings. The book embarks on how discourse is influenced by social and cultural elements, particularly within the American context. As the editor, Rogers brings together various scholars and discourse theorists to offer insights on the role of language in shaping educational experiences and power dynamics.

Author Biographies

Neslihan Keleş, Atatürk University, Department of Foreign Languages Education, Erzurum, Türkiye

She is currently working as an instructor in School of Foreign Languages at Trabzon University. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of English Language Teaching at Atatürk University. Her research interests include corpus linguistics, classroom interaction, and the integration of technology into language teaching.

 

 

Elif Aydın Yazıcı, Trabzon University, School of Foreign Languages, Trabzon, Türkiye

She is currently a lecturer at Trabzon University, Turkey. She holds her BA in English Language and Literature, and her MA in Applied Linguistics. She hold PhD in English Language Teaching at Bahçeşehir University. Her research areas include bilingual education, translanguaging, teacher education, and teacher identity.
